AM Nomikos pays $12.35m for United Ocean kamsarmax

AM Nomikos Transworld Maritime Agencies has sealed its reputation as a deft buyer of distressed bulker assets. The Greek outfit has emerged as the buyer of one of many United Ocean bulkers that have flooded the market since the Japanese tonnage provider went bankrupt at the end of last year.

AM Nomikos has picked up the 2009-built kamsarmax United Serenity for $12.35m. Brokers had earlier suggested incorrectly this ship had been snapped up by Ebe. AM Nomikos has since renamed the ship Astraea SB.

Other ships bought by AM Nomikos this year include two capes, four handysizes and a supramax – all previously controlled by Oaktree Capital Management-backed Maritime Equity Partners (MEP).

Comments

  1. Believe this would be AE rather than AM Nomikos who currently have 4 units, different branch of the family than AM Nomikos. Other vsls in AE Nomikos fleet are:

ATALANTI SB / AURORA SB / ALKYONI SB / ATTIKI SB
