Norden sells old handy tanker for firm $13.5m

Brokers tell Splash that Norden continues to shred elderly tonnage.

This week the 2006-built handysize tanker Nord Princess has been linked to Greek tanker player Ancora Investment for $13.5m. Other recent sales done by the Danish tanker owner include two similar sized ships, the Nord Thumbelina and the Nord Mermai, both of which fetched $14m a couple of months ago.

The price of the newest sales has raised the eyebrows for followers of the tanker sector, with one broker report commenting that the values show that prices have not softened quite as much as some indications have suggested. VesselsValue.com sets the market value for the ship at $11.26m. Ancora is listed with a fleet of 12 tankers.
