Norden snaps up MR tanker pair from Kirk Kapital

Danish owner Norden has added to its fleet, acquiring 2009-built MR2 tanker pair Marianne Kirk and Anja Kirk according to brokers.

The two vessels, owned by Danish investment firm Kirk Kapital, were snapped up for $18.75m each. VesselsValue puts the value of the Marianne Kirk at $18.5m and the Anja Kirk at $18m.

Kirk Kapital, the wealth fund owned by members of the family which owns Lego, announced last week it would quit the product tanker business by selling all five of its product tankers.

Norden currently has just over 50 vessels in its tanker fleet, 38 of them MRs.
