Nordic American Tankers fixes suezmax to Equinor

Herbjørn Hansson’s Nordic American Tankers (NAT) has entered into a new contract with Norwegian energy giant Equinor for 2011-built suezmax Nordic Zenith.

The contract will commence on expiration for the vessel’s current spot employment, and is for a period of 12 to 15 months.

NAT says the contract is valued at somewhere between $9m and $11m.

“Going forward, we sense a strong upward trend for the tanker industry,” the company said.
