Nordic Tankers buys small stainless chemship

Nordic Tankers has purchased a 10-year-old stainless steel chemical tanker from Singapore’s Quantum Pacific Shipping for $21m.

The Japan-built Amber Ray (19,700 dwt, built 2005) has 36 tank segregations will be renamed Nordic Maya after its delivery at the end of August or in early September.

The vessel will mainly be deployed in the Americas and trans-Atlantic trade, said Nordic Tankers, which plans to manage the vessel in-house.
