North Atlantic Drilling jackup contract extended

North Atlantic Drilling, part of John Fredriksen’s Seadrill, has been awarded a firm one well extension plus one well option from Statoil for jackup rig West Elara.

Work will commence in direct continuation of the rig’s existing contract with Statoil. The value of the extensions is worth around $10m.

West Elara has been operating under contract to Statoil since 2011.
