Northport spending on solar

Kuala Lumpur: Malaysian container terminal Northport will spend RM15m installing solar panels. The port’s ceo, Abi Sofian Abdul Hamid, said the investment would save about RM250,000 per year based on the Sustainable Energy Development Authority’s (SEDA) current feed-in tariff (FiT) calculations. The move is also in line with the Transport Ministry’s Green Port Initiative. Northport’s current electricity bill is around RM1.3 a month.  [02/04/14]
