Norvic Shipping appoints Peter Borup to head up dry bulk division

Canadian dry bulk operator Norvic Shipping International has appointed Peter Borup as chief executive officer of its dry bulk division.

Borup brings plenty of experience to Norvic having worked with Maersk, Norden and most recently J. Lauritzen where he headed dry cargo activities.

A.J. Rahman, chairman of Norvic, commented: “During this time of transformation, there is no better person to lead Norvic Shipping’s dry bulk business than Peter Borup. Peter is a proven leader with extensive knowledge of the shipping industry, business vision and the ability to bring people together in a fast-growing company like Norvic.”

Toronto-based Norvic was formed in 2006 and is active in the handysize, supramax, panamax, post-panamax and baby cape sectors. It has close to 100 ships on charter currently.
