November trials for China’s first fully automated box terminal

Shanghai: China’s first fully automated container terminal will start trial operations this November. The Yuanhai container terminal in Xiamen will have an annual throughput of around 900,000 teu.

The equipment for the RMB658m terminal has been provided by ZPMC and the terminal, located in the Haicang Free Trade area, is a joint venture between the local port authority and Cosco.

ZPMC has been marketing fully automated terminals for the past couple of years. [14/02/14]
