Japanese bulker giant NS United Kaiun Kaisha has appointed Kazuo Tanimizu to replace Toru Obata as its new president. The 59-year-old will take on the position from late June. He has been at the shipping line since 2015, having previously worked for many years for its parent.
NS United is owned by Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corporation. Its fleet today is around 60 ships, including a couple of valemaxes under construction for COAs with Brazilian miner Vale.
NS United’s latest medium term business plan targets to boost the line’s fleet size to 210 ships.
