NT Bunkering takes small chemical tanker from Finbeta

Tallinn-based NT Bunkering AS, part of the Russian group NT Bunkering, has acquired a small chemical tanker vessel from Italian shipping firm Finbeta.

Earlier this week broking sources reported the ship named Zircone had been offloaded for some $4m to undisclosed buyers and the deal has been confirmed to Splash by Luca Bertani, CEO of Finbeta. “I can confirm Zircone ship has been sold recently but I cannot add any more details due to confidentiality clause,” he said.

Several sources suggest that buyers are based in Russia, and according to VesselsValue.com the new owner of the 8.000 dwt tanker is the Estonian company NT Bunkering AS. NT Bunkering was originally established in 1997 as a physical marine fuel supplier at the port of Saint-Petersburg.

The sale from Finbeta’s fleet was part of the debt restructuring plan signed by the shipping firm with Banca Carige earlier this year.
