NYK adds two more LNG carriers at Samsung for Total charter

Japan’s NYK has ordered a pair of 174,000 cu m LNG carriers from Samsung Heavy Industries as part of a long-term contract signed with Total Gas & Power Chartering.

The membrane-type LNG carriers are scheduled for delivery in 2021, and will be operated by Gazocean, a joint venture between NYK and Total.

In October NYK ordered a ship of the same specification, also scheduled for delivery in 2021, for a seven-year charter to Total.
