NYK fixes charter for new wood-chip carrier

Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) has concluded a long-term contract with Hokuetsu Kishu Paper for a new wood-chip carrier.

The new wood-chip carrier will be built by Oshima Shipbuilding and delivered in 2018. The ship will be able to load 4.3m cu ft of wood chips and will feature electronically controlled engines.

NYK currently has long-term contracts with Hokuetsu Kishu Paper for six wood-chip carriers.
