NYK in for Mipo product pair

Brokers report that the Tokyo-based Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) has gone to South Korea with an order for two 52,000 dwt MR product carriers.

The Japanese shipping major selected Hyundai Mipo for the order with delivery of the ships, priced at $35.5m each, due in 2017.

NYK was swayed to order overseas by the early delivery slots. NYK has been quiet on tanker newbuilds so far this year.
