NYK offloads ore carrier

Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) has offloaded a 12-year-old ore carrier to Samos Steamship. Samos is paying in the high $12ms for the 229,186 dwt, Namura-built G Pegasus. The ship has been with the NYK group since it was delivered.

NYK has recently indicated it will set about pruning its dry bulk fleet of older tonnage in a bid to secure better time charter deals.
