NYK orders VLGC pair at JMU

Japan’s NYK Line has ordered two 84,000 cu m very large gas carriers (VLGCs) at local shipyard Japan Marine United Corporation (JMU).

The price for each vessel is $75m, and delivery is scheduled in January 2019.

The new order adds to a single 165,000 cu m LNG carrier NYK has under construction at JMU, with that vessel due for delivery in August 2017.

NYK Group operates a fleet of 782 vessels with total capacity of 62m dwt, including 68 tankers and 29 LNG carriers.
