NYK seals Total charter for LNG newbuild

NYK has signed a contract with Total to charter out a newbuild LNG carrier for seven years with an option for an extra year. The 174,000 cu m ship will be built at Samsung Heavy Industries in South Korea for delivery in 2021.

The membrane type LNG carrier will be equipped with a WinGD-made dual-fuel slow-speed diesel engine.

No prices have been given for the deal.
