NYK sets up new employment scheme for Japanese seafarers

Tokyo: NYK has decided to implement a new employment scheme to get more Japanese seafarers with specialist knowledge on its ships.

Seafarers with specialised knowledge and skills are becoming more needed, the company said in a release, as NYK becomes more active in its LNG and offshore businesses.

The employment of several officers and engineers is currently scheduled to take place from April or October 2016.
