Ocean Rig case moves to the Court of Appeals

New York lawyer Tally Wiener is not giving up in her pursuit of George Econonou’s Ocean Rig.

Ocean Rig sought bankruptcy protection in March last year. Wiener had sought to contest Ocean Rig’s Chapter 15 process. Wiener, who invested in Ocean Rig stock, saw her initial objection to the relief Ocean Rig is seeking in the US, in aid of its Cayman Islands restructuring proceedings, thrown out of court. However, she has recently filed an appeal, which is now lodged with the Court of Appeals, the highest level federal court in the US below the Supreme Court.

“I am trying to make sure Ocean Rig and its management are not above the law,” Wiener told Splash.
