Odfjell acquires secondhand chemical tanker

Norwegian owner Odfjell has announced the purchase of secondhand chemical tanker  Argent Eyebright for $25.5m.

The vessel was built in 2009 by Kitanihon Shipbuilding in Japan and has been on time charter to Odfjell Tankers since January 2017.

The vessel will be renamed and put under the NIS flag after completion of the transaction at the end of June.

Odfjell said the vessel fits well with its tanker fleet and the purchase is in line with the company’s fleet renewal strategy.
