Odfjell Drilling recruiting over 200 workers as semi-sub pair join fleet

Norway’s Odfjell Drilling says it has begun the process of employing over 200 new workers as newbuild semi-submersibles Deepsea Nordkapp and Beacon Atlantic prepare to go into action.

The more than 200 operational personnel, engineers and administrative support personnel will support the two rigs, which are contracted to North Sea activities.

Deepsea Nordkapp was delivered by Samsung Heavy in January this year and is currently in transit to the North Sea to take up a contract with Aker BP next quarter, while a management agreement with CIMC Raffles for Beacon Atlantic will see the rig, currently undergoing sea trials, headed for a contract with Neptune Energy Norway in the North Sea later this year.
