Odfjell Drilling sells drillship

Golden Close Maritime, a unit of Odfjell Drilling, has signed a memorandum of agreement with an Asian buyer for the sale of the Deepsea Metro I drillship for $262.5m.

The proceeds from the sale will be used for a mandatory prepayment of the company’s bond loans.

The drillship is jointly owned by Metro Exploration (60%) and Odfjell Drilling (40%). Odfjell Drilling is the manager of the vessel.
