Oil find off Kuantan

Kuala Lumpur: The government announced yesterday that an oil field with estimated reserves of 64m barrels was discovered about 160 km northeast of Kuantan in the state of Pahang at a depth of 76 m by Petronas, and Sweden-based Lundin Petroleum AB. Crude oil production will begin in the third quarter of 2014 with a projected output of 17,500 to 20,000 barrels per day. [01/11/12]
