Oldendorff clinches sought after post-panamax

One of Europe’s most active bulker buyers has clinched a ship it has eyed for many months. German administrators acting for the creditors of Thomas Schulte Reederei invited offers at the beginning of the month on the seven-year-old Boavista post-panamax.

The ship is understood to have now been sold to Oldendorff Carriers with Clarkson Research suggesting a price of $14.3m. Oldendorff had come close to buying this 93,062 dwt ship in April, but the deal failed to materialise at the time.

Whether in resales, newbuild orders or general S&P, Oldendorff has proved to be very aggressive throughout 2017, making the most of bargain bulkers on offer around the world.
