Oldendorff takes new handymax from Globeco

Oldendorff Carriers goes on with its dry bulk shopping campaign adding a newly built handymax bulk carrier built by the Chinese shipyard Avic Weihai. The seller is the Italian shipping company Globeco chaired by Mariano Pane who ordered the vessel in spring 2013 for some $20m.

Broking sources confirm to Splash that the bulker named Don Mariano is being sold to Oldendorff now for some $13.5m.

A few weeks ago Globeco’s chairman Mariano Pane confirmed to Splash that negotiations for the resale of this ship were underway.
