Olympic Shipping AHTS wins year-long charter after months in layup

An unnamed “international” client has chartered Olympic Shipping’s anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessel Olympic Octopus (16,085 bhp, built 2006) for 12 months in the North Sea.

The Oslo-listed company did not disclose the value of the contract, which includes four six-month extension options.

The vessel (pictured) has been laid up in Fosnavåg in Norway since mid-November 2015, and will be prepared to commence operations from July.

Olympic Octopus‘ last employment was a seven-day contract for ConocoPhillips Norway during October last year, in which the AHTS provided support services to the jack-up drilling rig Maersk Gallant.
