Orient Express Lines takes on its largest ship

Intra-Asia operator Orient Express Lines (OEL), a Southeast Asian subsidiary of India’s Transworld Group, has bought the 14-year-old, 4,252 teu Irenes Wisdom for $7.1m from Tsakos Shipping & Trading.

The ship has been renamed OEL Jumeirah and becomes the largest owned vessel in the group. Transworld also owns Shreyas Shipping & Logistics.

The OEL Jumeirah will trade on the carrier’s services between India and the Middle East.
