OSM appoints new management team as Larsen takes a back seat

OSM Maritime has appointed a new chairman and a new CEO from within, replacing founder and majority shareholder Bjørn Tore Larsen who has decided he will no longer lead the operations of the company.

Larsen will continue as chairman and CEO of OSM’s maritime services holding company Optimum Maritime Holding, and will also remain chairman of OSM Aviation.

Stepping into the role of chairman is current deputy CEO Tommy Olofsen. Olofsen will keep his current responsibilities, which include strategic development and business relations. Additionally, Singapore-based Bjoern Sprotte has been appointed CEO, and will be in charge of the day-to-day operations of the group.

Commenting on the changes, Larsen said: “With these changes, we are strengthening our focus on providing excellent services to our customers and partners through best in class operations in ship management and crew management.”
