Ostenfeldt quits Thome to take Nordic Tankers role

Singapore: A prominent shipmanager in Singapore has been poached by Nordic Tankers, one of the world's largest operators of small- and medium-sized chemical tankers.

On January 1, 2015 Carsten Brix Ostenfeldt, 47, will join Nordic Tankers as senior vice president and head of the firm’s technical organisation. Ostenfeldt is currently ceo of Singapore-based Thome Ship Management. He has been with the Thome Group since 2010, initially as technical director, later as managing director and ceo when fellow Dane Bjorn Hojgaard quit to take the reins at Univan Ship Management.

Ostenfeldt has become a well-known figure in local shipping circles, most recently on stage along with other board members at Friday night’s huge Singapore Shipping Association dinner.

Thome has yet to announce a successor.  [30/09/14]
