Østensjø Rederi wins Dong Energy SOV contract

Norwegian offshore vessel owner Østensjø Rederi has been awarded a contract to provide a newbuild service operation vessel to DONG Energy for operations at Race Bank offshore wind farm in the North Sea off the UK.

The contract is set to commence September 2017 and is for a five year firm period with five optional years.

“This contract enables us to expand our business into the renewable energy sector. It has been the strategy of Østensjø Rederi to diversify our operations. Thus, we are pleased that DONG Energy has awarded us this exciting opportunity in a sector we believe have further demands for similar vessels in the near future”, commented Johan Rokstad, CEO of Østensjø Rederi.

The Rolls Royce designed DP2 SOV, to be built at Astilleros Gondan in Spain, will function as a mother ship for up to 40 wind turbine technicians working out of an operations base at Grimsby.
