OW Bunker exec awaits Italian extradition verdict

Copenhagen: A high ranking executive in now defunct OW Bunker, who has been behind bars for the last three months in Denmark, will find out next Monday if he will be extradited to Italy for an alleged $50m extortion.

Lars Peter Bohn, 40, who is a Danish citizen and a US resident, is accused of serious fraud and falsification of documents and being a part of an organised crime gang.

Italian media have previously reported that the case concerns a fictitious sale of a large consignment of oil to the Italian Navy worth $50m.

Bohn was head of OW Bunker’s global sales to government authorities. He rejects all the charges.

OW Bunker went bust in rapid, spectacular fashion last November, which has led to numerous court cases around the world.
