Owners advised to proceed with ‘great caution’ when calling Libya

Cairo: Shipowners calling in Libya need to be very careful and should also look at their charterparty contracts, a leading P&I Club has warned. In a circular to members, Skuld said that the situation in Libya “is rather volatile and fluid”.

Anyone considering fixtures with calls at Libya should proceed with great caution, Skuld said, adding that owners should look at their charterparty terms to check if they will be sufficient to deal with the situation on the ground as it develops.  [18/08/14]
