Pacific Drilling awarded drillship contract by Erin Energy

Erin Energy Corporation has executed a drilling services contract with Pacific Drilling for use of 2010-built drillship Pacific Bora.

Under the contract, Erin Energy will use the drillship at the Oyo-9 well on the Oyo field offshore Nigeria, with options available to drill up to two additional wells. The contracted operating rate is $195,000 per day.

“The execution of this rig contract is an important step in advancing our 2017 work program and our development of the Oyo field in the deepwater offshore Nigeria. We look forward to working closely with Pacific Drilling on this drilling program,” said Jean-Michel Malek, interim chief executive officer of Erin Energy.

The Pacific Bora is currently in Nigeria and expected to be mobilised to the Oyo field and on site during June 2017.
