Pan Ocean orders kamsarmax pair at CSSC Chengxi

South Korean shipping group Pan Ocean has placed an order at Chinese state-run yard CSSC Chengxi for two 85,000 dwt kamsarmax bulk carriers.

According to shipbroking sources, the two wide beam vessels are scheduled for delivery in 2021 and price for the each vessel is $29m.

In the past few years, more South Korean owners have opted to construct newbuildings at Chinese yards. Pan Ocean currently 16 newbuildings on order, including 14 bulkers, at Chinese yards New Times Shipbuilding and Yangzijiang.

Both Korean Line and Sinokor have a series of newbuildings under construction at CSSC Chengxi.
