Per Wistoft returns to Dubai as UACC boss

Dubai: Per Wistoft has jumped ship from Singapore’s Brightoil Shipping to take the reins at United Arab Chemical Carriers (UACC). Wistoft replaces Jens Groenning as ceo of the Dubai outfit. Groenning had been in charge of UACC for the past five years, but is keen to return to Europe for family reasons.

Wistoft is no stranger to Dubai tanker circles having been managing director of Gulf Navigation in the past.

“Per Wistoft is the type of leader and character that we need in UACC to ensure continuity and continued growth in the segments we are in,” said UACC chairman Waleed Al Dawood.

“UACC’s healthy balance sheet, and strong cash position means the company is in a unique position to continue its growth.”

UACC has a fleet of 16 MR and LR1 chemical and products tankers with an average age of five years.  [06/08/13]
