Perdana Petroleum cancels Nam Cheong barge order

Malaysia’s Perdana Petroleum has cancelled the second of the two 500-men accommodation barges it ordered in June 2014 at Nam Cheong. Perdana had inked an $84m contract for the pair.

Perdana claimed Nam Cheong had not met delivery schedules as stipulated in the original contract and is now seeking the return of $8.4m, which was paid as an initial deposit. The first barge was cancelled this March. The original order came with two options.
