Pertamina in for three NYK tankers

Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) has been pruning its MR tanker fleet. Brokers report Indonesian energy giant Pertamina has come in for two Shin Kurishima MRs, the Challenge Polaris and Challenge Paragon for $31m en bloc as well as NYK’s VLCC Toba for an undisclosed price. The VLCC is understood to have been on subjects for a number of months.

Meanwhile, brokers also report that NYK has sold another MR tanker, called Challenge Premier for $12.5m on a bareboat basis to undisclosed European buyers.
