Pertamina pushes bunker project

Jakarta: State run energy giant Pertamina is expanding its bunker storage capacity on the island of Sambu. Once complete the facility will be able to hold 300,000 kilolitres of bunker fuel, local reports said.

Ships of up to 100,000 dwt will be able to call at the facility when complete in 2016, a big increase from the current 40,000 dwt limit.

Pertamina has made plain its aim to snatch some of the market share held by Singapore, the world’s largest bunkering hub.  [17/02/14]
