Pertamina told to focus on core business

Jakarta: The government is pushing for a further streamlining of state energy giant Pertamina. It is coming under pressure to sell its 65% stake in Asuransi Tugu, an insurance firm, as it is forced to focus on its core businesses.  Asuransi Tugu’s assets were valued at Rp 3.3trn last year.

There are 20 subsidiaries under Pertamina, including airline Pelita Air and Patra Jasa, a hotel and property business.  [29/11/12]
