PetroVietnam takes Doun Kisen aframax

A month after active PetroVietnam added Chembulk’s Kings Point, renamed Opec Fortune, for just under $14m, the growing Southeast Asian outfit is tied to a much larger tanker adding the BM Breeze, a 105,400 dwt aframax belonging to Japan’s Doun Kisen, for $18m.

The ship will be the fifth aframax in PetroVietnam’s tanker fleet that counts now 15 ships. State owned PetroVietnam is plotting a $500m bond issue in the next couple of years and further ship acquisitions are on the cards.
