PGS and TGS team up on Barents Sea survey project

Offshore survey specilists Petroleum Geo-Services (PGS) and TGS will join their efforts for a large 3D survey project in the Barents Sea in late May.

The project will cover 6,100 square km in an active APA area of the Hammerfest Basin and is due to be completed in September 2018. Fast-track data will be available in the first quarter 2019 with final data in the fourth quarter of 2019.

PGS’s survey vessel  Ramform Atlas will be deployed for the project.

“In addition to providing an excellent basis for exploration decisions, this new Hammerfest dataset can be used as a baseline survey for future 4D comparisons, making this a cost-effective solution for exploration, evaluation, field development and production monitoring,” said Rune Pedersen, president and CEO of PGS.
