PGS to sell survey vessel to JOGMEC

Norwegian offshore seismic service provider PGS has offered to sell its 2009-built survey vessel Ramform Sterling to the Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corporation (JOGMEC) as part of a tender process.

PGS has now been informed that the company is the preferred tenderer, and negotiations will be initiated with the aim of concluding necessary contracts.

The tender process also includes up to 10 years service agreement with annual renewals. PGS has formed a joint venture with NYK and Hitachi for this part of the tender.

NYK will be responsible for the vessel operation, Hitachi for data processing and PGS will provide technical and operational services, support and training.

PGS anticipates the deal will be concluded during the first quarter of 2019 and JOGMEC is scheduled to take delivery of the vessel at the following quarter.

PGS intends to maintain the same operated fleet size in 2019 and it will reintroduce the Ramform Vanguard from the summer of 2019 after the sale of Ramform Sterling.
