Pioneer Marine appoints Torben Janholt as CEO

Singapore dry bulk owner Pioneer Marine has appointed Torben Janholt as its new CEO, replacing Pankaj Khanna who left the company at the end of May.

Janholt has served as a board member of Pioneer Marine since 2013, prior to which he was president and CEO of J. Lauritzen for over 14 years.

Bradley Dietz, an independent director of Pioneer Marine, commented “We are pleased to have Torben Janholt serve in his expanded role as CEO. He brings extensive knowledge of Pioneer and his leadership as industry executive is unparalled.”

Additionally, Sam Tsui leaves the company from his role of CFO and will be replaced by Korinna Tapaktsoglou.

Grant Rowles

Grant spent nine years at Informa Group based in London, Sydney, Hong Kong and Singapore. He gained strong management experience in publishing, conferences and awards schemes in the shipping and legal areas, working on a number of titles including Lloyd's List. In 2009 Grant joined Seatrade responsible for the commercial development of Seatrade’s Asia products. In 2012, with Sam Chambers, he co-founded Asia Shipping Media.
