Piraeus Bank teams with Japan’s ORIX for new ship finance offering

Piraeus Bank has teamed with Japanese financial institution ORIX Corporation to start offering ship finance to the Greek market.

“The partnership combines Piraeus Bank’s long-term relationships and knowledge of the Greek maritime sector with ORIX’s significant balance sheet capacity, to provide clients with a wider selection of financing instruments and additional financing where necessary,” Piraeus Bank stated in a release.

Piraeus Bank’s existing portfolio to the local shipping community is already in excess of $2.5bn, becoming one of the fastest growing Greek ship finance banks in recent years.
