Plans for Oman’s first dry port

Muscat: Plans for a multimodal logistics hub in South Al Batinah Governorate are pushing ahead with a high-level government committee looking at the establishment of the country’s first-ever dry port, which will serve as a halfway point for shipping containers and other freight plying between Muscat, the Omani capital, and Sohar Port.  Tenders for the building of the dry port are likely to go out soon.  [21/07/14]
