Pola Rise orders four MPPs on home soil

Russian owner Pola Rise, whose fleet is polarised between river- and ocean-going ships, has returned to a familiar yard, Krasnoye Sormovo, for another series of ships.

Brokers report the Moscow-headquartered line has put pen to paper for four firm 8,093 dwt multipurpose ships. No price has been identified. The vessels, which are scheduled for delivery in 2019, are set to have a container capacity of 248 teu.

Pola Rise recently finished taking a series of box barges from the same yard.

Established in 2006, Pola Rise’s ocean-going fleet today features 19 handysize bulkers, of which 11 are owned and eight chartered in.
