Polarcus awarded offshore Egypt contract

Dubai: Oslo Bors listed seismic vessel owner Polarcus Limited has received an award from an unnamed client for a 3D marine seismic project offshore Egypt.

Tom Henrik Sundby, cfo of Polarcus, told Splash that it was the company’s first project offshore Egypt. The operation will commence by the end of this month, utilising Polarcus Alima (built 2010) which is currently en-route to the project from West Africa, and will last for approximately 50 days.

Polarcus has a fleet of seven seismic vessels, with Sundby adding that in the current climate there were no plans to add to the fleet, with the focus being utilisation of the current fleet.
