Polarcus wins a survey contract in South America

Oslo-listed Polarcus has signed a letter of intent (LOI) to undertake an  additional broadband 3D marine seismic survey in offshore South America for an unnamed client.

The three-month contract will commence in the final quarter this year, the Duabi-based company said today.

“This award is very significant for Polarcus as it dovetails perfectly with previously announced projects we are acquiring in offshore South America, extending our campaign for another three months through Q4 2016 and
maximising our fleet utilisation by minimising transit time between surveys,” Richard Price, Polarcus’ senior vice-president, North & South America, said in a release.

Last September, Polarcus won a non-exclusive contract for a broadband 3D marine seismic project in offshore Brazil, which commenced in the second quarter this year.
