Polaris in for newcastlemax pair at Waigaoqiao

South Korean owner Polaris Shipping has returned to Shanghai Waigaoqiao for a pair of newcastlemaxes as part of its ongoing fleet renewal program. Polaris has inked a contract for two 210,000 dwt bulkers. The Tier III-fitted ships will deliver in 2021. No price has been revealed for the vessels.

In May last year, Polaris made its first deal with Shanghai Waigaoqiao, part of the CSSC empire, signing a contract for a 180,000 dwt capesize.

Traditionally Polaris has ordered on home soil, with Hyundai Heavy Industries its favoured yard.
