Polaris Shipping takes capesize from TRF Ship Management

South Korean owner Polaris Shipping has acquired a 209,000dwt capesize bulker from Oslo-based TRF Ship Management.

According to broking sources, the TRF Charleston has been sold to Polaris Shipping for $46.2m.

TRF Ship Management took delivery of the vessel from China Shipping Industry in January this year.

The ship is replacement tonnage for the Stellar Daisy, a VLOC which sank at the end of March in the South Atlantic with the loss of 22 lives.

Following the sale, TRF Ship Management will be left with five vessels made up of two containerships and three tankers. It currently has another two VLCCs under construction at Hanjin Subic.
